Scale: 1:76 | Gauge: 9mm | 009 | Kit
A favourite loco of the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway, between 1898 and 1954 Hunslet built thirty-two 2−6−2 tanks to a design which altered basically very little over the years and were mainly used on the Sierra Leone Government Railways. Of course a few made their way back to the UK following the end of the Second World War and the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway was one of the lucky recipients.
The whitemetal kit is a reasonably easy to put together and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The Trix donor chassis does need a fair bit if work to get it to fit and run smoothly, but it is worth the effort. Can be difficult to place on the track with all the wheels on so a re-railing ramp is often handy
Good heavy larger loco which runs well and looks the part.
