Scale: 1:76 | Gauge: 9mm | 009 | Kit
This diminutive locomotive kit was originally developed by Meridian Models but when that closed this and other kits were continued and enhanced by Mosskito Models. The original kit used an Arnold chassis and the wheels were too close together in that. It did produce a good running model though. The kit consists of some whitemetal parts and nickel silver etches. The whitemetal parts are well cast and the etches are well produced. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Mosskito have vastly improved this model by creating a new chassis for it that comes with the kit. The chassis is also a kit and must be made up - perhaps not so easy for the beginner but it is not difficult.
The kit can be built with or without the cab unlike the original Arnold chassis version that had the motor in the cab.
With a rake of tippers behind it this locomotive can really set the light industrial scene.
