Jouef Decauville 0-4-0
A review of the small French locomotive that was one of the first ready to run narrow gauge models

Scale: 1:87 | Gauge: 9mm | HOe | Ready To Run
The Decauville 0-4-0 was manufactured by Jouef, although was marketed under the Playcraft Brand in the 1960's, and had long been an introduction to narrow gauge modelling for many people.
The locomotives can still be seen at exhibition occasionally but mostly on 2nd hand stalls. In their day there were very few steam outline locomotives available ready to run and this little locomotive made its mark.
The motor is particularly noisy, even for one produced in the 1960's, and realistic slow running is near impossible.
There is a Decauville outside frame upgrade available and a replacement motor - both of which would enhance this model.
Jouef Decauville 0-4-0 review conclusion
This is a very old ready to run locomotive and does not compare to modern manufacturing techniques.
